Production Manager

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the planning and activities of work order management, production scheduling, screen preparation, printing, color mixing, embroider and contracted production coordination. Accomplishes these activities through direct management, supervision and development of personnel performing specific tasks in support of OTBI and its related business units.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Responsible for all activities and duties involving screen press operations, embroidery, ink mixing and silk screen management in the manufacturing division.
  • Responsible for all production planning including scheduling and shop floor management.
  • Responsible for the performance of production within the manufacturing applied budgets.
  • Responsible for all processes resulting in producing products within company established quality, quantity and time requirements.
  • Responsible for procuring all materials and services to achieve daily objectives within fiscal guidelines and procedures.
  • Responsible for budget development and management.
  • Participate with senior management to establish priorities and provide recommendations in interpreting and implementing companywide plans, policies, standards and procedures.
  • Continuously review best practices methodologies and procedures that enhance quality and services, ensure safe workplace practices, and personnel development.
  • Responsible for the compliance with all pertinent governmental and company regulations to ensure an efficient, effective, uninterrupted and safe operation.
  • Responsible for the continuous development of all personnel within the division. Required to complete annual performance assessments for all personnel within reporting structure. Emphasizes continual self-improvement as part of personnel development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 - 7 years of related experience with a minimum of 5 years of previous management responsibility. College degree preferred but not required.
  • Computer literate able to apply enterprise solutions and office productivity tools as part of the daily curriculum.
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret financial mathematics, cost accounting and performance related reports.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and able to operate various material handling equipment.
  • Must be organized, detailed and process oriented.
  • Must have the capability to think broadly and critically with the ability to act on decisions and execute at either level. Must be able to focus on projects and processes from conception to completion while managing numerous people, functions and processes simultaneously.
  • Must be people oriented and capable of managing a diverse culture and working environment.
  • Knowledge of all applicable OSHA safety rules and regulations
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to present and defend ideas orally and in writing to multiple levels of management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Plans purchases of blank stock/ready to wear for season/year by accurately analyzing and forecasting needs that will support the sales goals of Crazy Shirts.
  • Performs seasonal buys, monthly re-ordering, weekly dye orders, using open to buy and evaluates changes needed to current stock for production use.
  • Works closely with vendors to supply projections, ensure adequate lead time for production and on time deliveries. Also sources new vendor avenues for future needs.
  • Works as a team and communicates with Merchandising Planners, Merchandisers, Blank stock Warehouse, Executives and Finance to ensure a smooth flow of merchandise.
  • Contributes to the development of seasonal and fashion styles including researching market trends and replacement products.
  • Responsible for financial aspects of purchasing such as budget development and negotiating discounts.
  • Leads, supervises, and develops Merchandising Assistant and Product Development Assistant.
  • Travel inside and outside the United States.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years buying experience required
  • PC experience required including intermediate Excel use and Microsoft Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Merchandiser Planner

SUMMARY:

Determines and maintains the assortment plan for an assigned group of retail stores.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Identifies seasonal assortment plan and tailors plan for regions and stores based on overall company goals.
  • Participates in overall seasonal planning of blank purchases by providing input as it relates to store assortment plans and art influences.

  • Monitor sales and decide whether demands are met and make decisions on whether keeping or removing product.
  • Expand designs to more stores or remove from stores if not working.
  • Develops merchandising timelines and critical path including seasonal style release calendar, strategic grouping plans and directives, special event timelines, etc.
  • Utilizes GERS system, related reports, historical data, and current trend to recommend and execute appropriate distribution, stock levels, and the allocation for multiple store locations.
  • Works closely with retail partners to develop product placement and plan-o-gram activities.
  • Plans and executes travel as required.
  • Responsible for effectively leading and managing merchandisers and ensuring they meet all job expectations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Printer I

SUMMARY:

The Press Operator Supports this mission by guiding and directing the print crew to ensure that the greatest number of high quality prints are produced.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Set up the printing press at standard rates using sequence data approved by supervisor.
  • Maintain machine controls and adjustments to ensure productivity at standard rates.
  • Inspect printed garments and make adjustments necessary to inks, screens, or squeegees to match approved design sample and maintain image quality at standard rates.
  • Develop knowledge of the pigments involved in color matching and the effect of these pigments when used with the translucent and/or opaque printing base.
  • Lead, direct, motivate, and develop Machine Loaders to achieve desired department outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to distinguish very subtle shades and colors
  • Experience with automated screen print operation/techniques, knowledge of water-based inks helpful
  • Basic math and reading skills

Color Specialist

SUMMARY:

Proofs all art prior to screen-printing to ensure color accuracy and print quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Hand screen design samples for design review and production.
  • Mix colors for production samples to designer’s specifications.
  • Facilitates communication relative to the printing of design between the Art Department and the Screen Technicians.
  • Maintain inventory of blank stock and adequate supplies for samples.
  • Researches new techniques to improve print quality and sampling processes.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to distinguish subtle color variations and accurately determine color matches
  • Basic knowledge of silkscreen process gained either through work or school
  • Art related courses helpful (i.e., color, silk screening, basic design, textiles)
  • Pass the background screening process

Screen Tech

SUMMARY:

Prepares screens enabling the art to be consistently transferred onto the products

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Art receiving and verification of art positives.
  • Preparation of all screens for art transferring and image burn in as designed.
  • Precise image registration on any respective apparel as designed.

Machine Loader

SUMMARY:

Load and unload shirts onto/from the dryer and visually inspect the printed items to assure consistent quality merchandise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Inspect shirts that come off the dryer to ensure first quality printing.
