Director of Operations

Summary: The Director of Operations is responsible for ensuring the successful operations of various departments including Warehouse, Shipping, Maintenance and Print/Production.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Plans and directs all operations activities to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Directs the Warehouse, Shipping, Maintenance and Production management teams, establishes priorities, and provides guidance in interpreting plans, practices, standards and departmental procedures.
  • Analyze and develop budget and cost controls for all respective departments.
  • Review and analyze production, quality control and other reports to determine causes and effects of deviance from product specifications and/or operational efficiencies.
  • Confer with CFO, Production Managers, Merchandising, Creative, and Quality Control to establish production requirements and quality control standards.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective operating methods and systems to eliminate problems, improve quality, ensure safe workplace practices, and strengthen the organization.
  • Provide overall guidance and support on safety issues
  • Works with Production to revise production and shipping schedules as a result of merchandising strategies, changes in demand and other variables.
  • Determine the number of positions and qualifications required for Operations departments and activities and the training required for employees to perform competently and safely.
  • Provide ongoing training/development and guidance to operations personnel in all functions of their jobs. Set goals, give encouragement and follow up to ensure results.
  • Responsible for OSHA and other regulatory compliance for facility.
  • Forecast and plan for space and equipment requirements for production and administrative needs
  • Manage the negotiation and purchase all non-product materials and equipment
  • Direct special projects as needed
  • Schedule and plan store maintenance and renovation projects including major renovations, major equipment, and new signage.
  • Review and propose process and technical changes to improve efficiencies in inventory tracking, shipping, receiving, and QA/QC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience with an additional 5 years of management responsibility.
  • Strong systems knowledge especially with inventory, production, accounting, and POS systems.
  • Strong math aptitude; able to calculate and interpret statistics; proficient in the use of logistics/distribution modeling.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and independent thinking.
  • Ability to motivate self and others.
  • Ability to work effectively with people.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and time management skills.
  • Able to communicate and delegate tasks clearly.

Merchandiser Planner

Summary: Determines and maintains the assortment plan for an assigned group of retail stores.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Identifies seasonal assortment plan and tailors plan for regions and stores based on overall company goals.
  • Participates in overall seasonal planning of blank purchases by providing input as it relates to store assortment plans and art influences.
  • Determine designs and topics and communicate to Art department based on trends and customer demand.
  • Monitor sales and decide whether demands are met and make decisions on whether keeping or removing product.
  • Expand designs to more stores or remove from stores if not working.
  • Develops merchandising timelines and critical path including seasonal style release calendar, strategic grouping plans and directives, special event timelines, etc.
  • Utilizes GERS system, related reports, historical data, and current trend to recommend and execute appropriate distribution, stock levels, and the allocation for multiple store locations.
  • Works closely with retail partners to develop product placement and plan-o-gram activities.
  • Plans and executes travel as required.
  • Responsible for effectively leading and managing merchandisers and ensuring they meet all job expectations.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years apparel merchandising/buying experience required.
  • PC experience required including intermediate Excel use and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Direct To Consumer Merchandiser

Summary: Maximizes product placement and presentation online based on analytics and marketing initiatives; ensuring appropriate inventory levels to maximize sales, execute company goals, and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Works with DTC Planner to develop optimum product assortment for Catalog and Web, and works in collaboration with internal partners and Web Consultants to achieve sale, cross-merchandising, and marketing objectives.
  • Executes product assortment plans and drives merchandising for assigned categories based on top ranking products, historical sales data and analytics in collaboration with internal partners and Web Consultants to achieve sales and marketing objectives.
  • Manage on-site SKUS weekly via internal reports and ensure all SKUS with inventory are merchandised appropriately and available for purchase on the web.
  • Use independent judgment to determine style demands to support sales projections and submit orders to Production Manager for in house production items and Purchasing Manager for vendor produced items.
  • Utilize systems, related reports, web analytical tools and financial reporting to recommend and execute appropriate stock levels, product placement on website, product expansion or liquidation to support sales plans and to develop merchandising strategies for assigned categories and suggest promotional strategies to increase conversion.
  • Coordinates with Retail counterparts on product recommendations as it affects overall company assortment.
  • Participate in seasonal kick offs and product overviews. Ensure seasonal themes and product stories are incorporated into merchandising strategy, and assist in planning and preparing for seasonal catalog photo shoots.
  • Act as traffic Manager for product update requests. Manage all incoming requests for web product information or image updates
  • Review products online and assess/identify additional product information needs that would improve the customer experience. Ensure all product copy, images, colors and content are correct and work with Merchant team, Marketing and Creative to obtain additional product information as needed.
  • Manage on-site keywords for designated categories. Utilize analytics and on-site search data to optimize with every new season.
  • Create weekly, monthly and seasonal reporting by category and sub-category, by utilizing web analytics, warehouse data and Excel and share results with Merchandising and Web team.
  • Manage and respond to all customer service requests, read all on-line product reviews and create actionable steps to utilize information and ensure product description, image and content changes are incorporated online.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years' experience in retail merchandising, and Ecommerce.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Design, Merchandising, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in content management, internet marketing and web analytics tools such as Omniture, CoreMetrics or Google Analytics preferred.
  • PC experience including advanced Excel use and Microsoft Outlook required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with teams to execute projects.

Summary: Load and unload shirts onto/from the dryer and visually inspect the printed items to assure consistent quality merchandise

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Load/unload shirts onto/from the automated printing press.
  • Inspect shirts that come off the dryer to ensure first quality printing.
  • Assist the screen operator in setting up and breaking down the press: screens, squeegees, inks, and strike offs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
